I IMAGINE MYSELF AS THE FLUID BETWEEN THE MOTHER AND THE CHILD
GET ON ALL FOURS AND RECLAIM THE COW…
GIRL,
REVERSED
AND REVERSED
The dance performance WASHAWAY explores softly yet intensely the theme of liquids as it flows through and connects all living beings. Sucking, drooling, crawling, chewing, and swaying – inspired by the image of milk dripping from a cow’s udder, the dancers evoke the rhythms and tides of the body. With these milky connections, as they are passing on, moving through, the performers reflect on the cycles of nourishment and transformation.
This performance invites you to float across bodies, across time, from mother to daughter, from cow to calf, from low tide to ocean, to more-than-human terrains.
